Division Coordinator: Chuck Carter
2014 U5 will be a Jamboree Format, including both boys and girls on the same ‘teams’.
The U5 Jamboree is a soccer program developed specifically for AYSO players that are 4-years old. The objective of this program is to provide young players and their parents with a “pressure free” introduction to the beautiful and simple game of soccer.
The AYSO U5 Jamboree is held each Saturday morning throughout the Fall season.
Teams are formed on a weekly basis depending on how many players attend a given session.
The child’s parent (or other person as designated by parent) will participate with their child for the first 20 mins of the session, to help practice the activity while the Master Coaches circulate between the parent / child pairs providing specific help or suggestions so that the activities are performed as intended.
Five “Master Coaches” will be available on the field. Their role is to introduce a game or activity to help develop a certain skill or part of the game.
After a suitable amount of time, the Master Coach will bring the players and parents back together as a group and recap what they have done, introducing the next game or activity.
Each Jamboree session will end with a 20-minute short-sided game.
The two goals of the program are to allow the players to enjoy the activities and to let the game be the teacher.
Each player in the Jamboree division will receive an official AYSO uniform and a soccer ball.
